Whistling Tea Kettles, there's just nothing like the sound of a boiling tea
kettle whistling softly in the kitchen first thing in the morning. That
high-pitched tone of a tea kettle is instantly recognizable all across the
world. From China to California, whistling tea kettles offer users a
time-honored way of boiling water and brewing teas for any occasion, whether it
be breakfast or a formal tea ceremony.
On my site (My name is Don Rubenstein) you will find 42
colorful, whistling tea kettles for you to purchase. This web site is
hosted inside Yahoo! and very very secure. My selection of kettles make
wonderful house warming gift, wedding presents, or for that special hostess with
the mostest!
Whistling tea kettles here on my site, come in many designs, from the most
traditional to the outlandish. (Unfortunately, motion tea kettles
that you and I have seen on television, are no longer
being made....blame over seas manufacturing for that) The whistling tea
kettles here on my site, are available in whimsical and cartoonish,
decorative, unique designs like cows,
fruit, light
houses, and more. The one thing they all have in common, however, is that
they produce a shrill sound when the water inside comes to a boil. But how does
this happen?
The scientific phrase for this phenomenon is "impinging shear flow
instability." Inside your tea kettle's whistle mechanism, there is a plug
with two disks that have a space between them and a hole in each disk. When the
steam from boiling water flows through the hole of the first disk and then
through the hole of the second disk, oscillating pressure in the air causes what
we have termed a "whistle."
